On the other side of the device, there is a diagram on how to use it. Nocturnal - the star clock is a beautiful instrument for determining nighttime hours based on the position of the stars. The device consists of a fixed dial divided into months, marked with every day of the year, a movable dial for determining the hours on a 1-12 scale, topped with a pointer—a smiling moon and a long arm which acts as the movable indicator. In the center of the device is a sight used to track the North Star (Polaris)—a fixed point around which other constellations, such as the Big Dipper, rotate. And precisely because the position of the North Star is fixed, we can relate the changing positions of other constellations to it over time. Our device—a replica of an instrument from 1570—is calibrated to the star Kochab in the Little Dipper constellation. But the most common and probably the easiest method is to set the pointer arm to the rear axis of the Big Dipper and the movable dial to the current date. This allows for reading the current sidereal time. The instrument is universal—it works at all latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. Please note that sidereal time does not necessarily coincide with official time.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"GiftDeco","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52545765572944,"sku":"223833","price":27990.0,"currency_code":"HUF","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/1466\/5925\/files\/Img_4e34b270-0b85-4fd1-9bb5-3b3efabdada1.jpg?v=1790416523","url":"https:\/\/modianoajandek.hu\/en\/products\/miniatur-csillagora-ejszakai","provider":"MODIANO","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
