Christmas gift ideas: what did most people buy from us last year?

Most Christmas gift lists are just guesswork. This one isn’t: we compiled it from our own orders to see what people bought from us the most between mid-November and the end of December last year. All the items below were genuine Christmas gifts, not editorial tips.

Jump to the point:

Last Christmas's best-selling gifts

Between November 15 and December 31, 2025, we received 125 orders. These were the items purchased in the highest quantities, in order:

  1. Brass candle snuff with wooden handle - 5,990 HUF. The most frequently purchased item. Low cost, yet full of character, which is why it works as both a standalone gift and an add-on.
  2. French playing cards in a brass-inlaid mango wood box, double set - 9,990 HUF. Two decks in a wooden box.
  3. Brass bell with wooden handle, small - 4,990 HUF. The cheapest on the list, yet the third most popular item.
  4. Antique-style brass compass in a wooden box - 12,990 HUF. One of the shop's most consistent products.
  5. French playing cards and dice in a brass-inlaid mango wood box - 10,990 HUF.
  6. Bronze-plated glass candy dish - 9,990 HUF. For the festive table.
  7. Anna Vicze ceramic "Tree of Life" picture - 39,990 HUF. Sixth in terms of quantity, but the highest in revenue.
  8. Wooden compass with brass inlay - 11,990 HUF.
  9. Brass magnifying glass in a wooden box - 9,990 HUF.
  10. 2x7 photo tin-plated family tree - 14,990 HUF. Holds fourteen photos in one frame.

Two things stand out from this list. One is that the majority of best-selling items fall between 5,000 and 15,000 HUF. The other is that almost all of them are made of wood or brass, and they all fit on a shelf. For us, a Christmas gift is typically not large, but well-chosen.

Christmas gift for husbands and men

If you are looking for a Christmas gift for your husband or a male relative, our experience is that things that have a designated place work best: on a desk, a bookshelf, or in a home office. Brass ornaments are exactly that, and they lead the list from last year as well.

Christmas gift for wives and women

A Christmas gift for a wife is a hit when it is both decorative and useful. Last season, two directions worked: handcrafted wall art and jewelry storage.

Christmas gift for parents and grandparents

It is hardest to choose for parents and grandparents because they typically have everything. What most people bought for this purpose last year has a common trait: the gift is connected to the family; it doesn't just give an object, but a place for memories.

Christmas gift for colleagues and bosses

For workplace gifts, two criteria decide: it shouldn't be too expensive, and it shouldn't be too personal. The three cheapest items on our list last year fall exactly into this range.

How much does a Christmas gift cost?

Based on our Christmas orders last year, three ranges emerge:

  • Under 5,000 HUF: brass bells and smaller ornaments. For add-on gifts or office gift exchanges.
  • 9,000 - 15,000 HUF: this is where the majority of best-sellers fall. Compasses, magnifying glasses, card games, candy dishes, family trees.
  • Over 25,000 HUF: ceramic pictures, larger jewelry boxes, wooden chests. Typically a group gift from the family.

Shipping: Free over 20,000 HUF

Within the country, shipping is free for orders over 20,000 HUF, applicable to all three methods: Foxpost locker, Posta parcel point, and home delivery. Below that amount, Posta parcel point is 990 HUF, Foxpost locker is 1,190 HUF, and home delivery is 1,590 HUF.

This matters most in the middle range, as our best-selling items are just below this threshold. It is often worth adding a smaller item: a 12,990 HUF brass compass and a 9,990 HUF brass magnifying glass total 22,980 HUF, meaning it crosses the threshold - and you have two gifts instead of one.

When should you order?

A practical point that is worth taking seriously: most of our selection is available in small quantities. Most items on the list above have between one and nine units in stock, as these are handcrafted and imported items, not mass-produced products.

In practice, this means the most popular items may sell out in December. If you see something you like, it is best not to leave it for the last week.

The expected shipping time varies per product and is listed on every product page. It is worth checking before you decide, because the date of Christmas is fixed.
