Hand-finished bronze-coated resin statue, crafted in every small detail. Asclepius was a demigod belonging to both Greek and Roman mythology. He was the god of medicine, as he was taught the art of healing—according to some sources by the centaur Chiron, and according to others directly by the god Apollo. He is often depicted with the sacred staff bearing his name, which is the international symbol of medical aid and was believed to be capable of curing any illness with its healing power; the snake coiled around the staff symbolizes the god's healing power, and the shedding of the reptile's skin refers to eternal divine rebirth.
