Atlas bronze-plated statue with a hinged lid

The Atlas statue is made with an opening lid and a bronze-plated finish.

Bronze-plated resin statue, hand-finished in every detail. Atlas was a legendary titan who fought a ten-year battle against Zeus on behalf of the Titans. Eventually, Atlas was defeated and, as punishment, forced to hold up the sky. Heracles needed the golden apples of Atlas's daughters, the Pleiades, and asked for his help. Atlas had Heracles hold the sky while he went to find his daughters. When Atlas returned, he did not want to take the sky back. Heracles tricked Atlas into taking the sky back by asking him to hold it for a moment while he adjusted his burden. In Roman mythology, Atlas had the head of Medusa in a bag. Atlas took it out, accidentally looked at it, and turned to stone.
