Bronze-coated resin statue, hand-finished in every detail. Galileo Galilei (Pisa, Italy 1564-1642) is the father of modern science and the scientific revolution. He is best known for creating the "scientific method" and for his struggles against the Roman Inquisition (where he uttered the famous phrase "e pur si muove!", which is still used in common parlance today) and the theories of geocentrism, in favor of the new heliocentrism and Copernican theories. He also invented the thermoscope and used the telescope to observe celestial bodies, which led him to discover the phases of Venus, the four moons of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, and many other discoveries.
