Fishing float ball in a net, ocean blue color. Diameter is 17.5 cm.
What it was used for
The glass orbs were originally floats for fishing nets: they kept the nets on the surface. They were manufactured for decades in Norway and Japan, and pieces that have washed ashore from the sea are still sought-after collectibles today.
17.5 cm
This is the larger size, which stands out on its own on a shelf or in a bowl. The netting is not just for decoration - it is what held the orb attached to the net.
