According to the legend, a giant fire-breathing dragon lived in the depths of a large lake in the Libyan city of Silena, threatening the safety of the inhabitants. To appease the creature's ferocity, the king decided to offer animal sacrifices and even young boys, until it was the young princess's turn to fall victim to the monster. However, the brave knight, Saint George, armed with his sword and the divine power guiding him, chained the dragon, and after the conversion of the Libyan people, he cut off the creature's head and killed it.
