Unique chess set, made of bronze using the lost-wax casting process, finished with genuine 24-karat gold. Each piece bears the sculptor's signature. The chessboard is crafted from onyx and bronze, featuring a bronze and genuine gold frame. The Vikings were the ancient people of Norway and Sweden, skilled sailors and pirates; they traveled vast distances in their ships, even reaching America. Countless legends were born about them, but it seems they were actually the direct ancestors of the Normans. In 1034, William the Conqueror, with his brilliant personality, stood at the head of these people as Duke of Normandy, then, landing in England in 1066, he defeated Harold II (III) at the Battle of Hastings; thus, he was crowned King of England in Westminster, introducing Norman feudalism, the Norman dynasty, and royal supervision over the local church. Dimensions: KING: height: cm 10 - Chessboard: cm 54x54x11 - cm 5,6
